9 Things You Can Learn About Plumbing Now

Depending on the type of blade installed , it can cut through lumber, metal, plywood, plastic and cast iron pipe —you name it—making it a favorite of remodelers. Blades commonly range in length from 3 to 12 inches and can have anywhere from 6 teeth per inch (for aggressively cutting lumber) to 18 or more teeth per inch for smoothly cutting metal. These saws cut in a back-and-forth motion, similar to a handsaw that's just downed four espressos. The "shoe" at the base of the blade is designed to rest against the material being cut to prevent the tool from hopping around. What it lacks in precision it makes up for in versatility and aggressiveness. A 16d nail is one that's 3-1/2-inches long. But what the heck does the "d" stand for? After all, it's used to describe the length of finish, box, common and other nails. One explanation is that the "d" hearkens back to the era when Romans ruled England and the monetary unit was the denarius (which had the same value as an English penny.) Legend has it that one hundred 3-1/2-inch nails cost 16 pennies back then.

If it’s unchanged, the sound you hear is something other than water; if the reading is different, then water is flowing and you likely have a leak in the sewer line. If areas of the floor feel moist underfoot and you’re sure that Fido hasn’t just relieved himself there, you’re probably looking at sewer leakage. When you notice these damp spots, don’t just put down a towel and brush it off; if you allow more moisture to build up, then it will cause mold or mildew to grow in your home which can be extremely toxic especially to those with weakened immune systems. Foul, funky… whatever you call it, odd odors behind walls or under the floor are often caused by mold and mildew growth due to water damage and pockets of moisture. As with #2 above, it’s best to get to the root of the problem fast; after 48 hours, fungi begins to grow more rapidly. If you’re seeing lush patches of grass in concentrated areas of your lawn or abnormal growth of other landscaping accompanied by wet spots , there may be pipe leakage which is temporarily providing fertilization. In time, however, hazardous bacteria in the underground waste will eventually devolve into a messy situation, not to mention destroying the lawn and garden. You wouldn’t think a leak could cause actual cracks in the foundation of your home, but it can happen over time. Leaking sewer lines may cause the ground beneath to shift ever-so-slightly, resulting in vertical or diagonal cracking that can compromise the integrity of the structure leading to a potentially dangerous situation. An unexplained spike in your water bill is the most accurate sign of pipe leakage; your bill provides an actual record of your water consumption over time versus random signs that could be due to something other than a leak. Unusual circumstances aside, such as an extra houseguest or filling up the pool for the summer, your water bill should remain fairly consistent, not varying much more than $10-15 per month.

I started looking for a less expensive multi-tool blade alternative and over the years, tried several aftermarket brands. None of them were as good a quality as the originals, but for the price I paid they got the job done. I was Westmont IL 60559 recently on Amazon scrolling thru the tools (my toy store) and came across a company that manufacturers replacement blades for multi tools. They had over two hundred positive reviews about their blades so I had to check them out. I contacted the company and they were very gracious in that they sent me two of their most popular multi-tool blade assortment kits. Before I move on please know that I did not pay for these blades and agreed to produce the below video after trying them out. I received two kits, a 15 piece multi tool saw blade set which consisted of three pieces each of five different blades. And a 10 piece bi-metal saw blade set all which consisted of one style blade. I tried each of the blades out on different materials such as 1/4″ plywood, 1″ X 3″ stock, 2″ X 4″ stock, 3/4″ p.v.c. and 1 1/2″ p.v.c.

Obama and Putin spend romantic weekend together after accidental booking of couples retreat. An error last weekend led to the booking of a couples weekend for world leaders Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin. The two planned to focus on increasing diplomatic relations between the US and Russia in coming months and years. “The weekend was lovely,” a relaxed and lackadaisical Obama told reporters. “Watching the sun set in our side by side bathtubs really allowed me and Vlad to get down to the real issues.” Although the summit meeting had a rocky start when Mr. Putin found it difficult to fall asleep in the shared heart-shaped water bed, the ocean sound generator provided by the resort quickly calmed him down. The retreat, rumoured to have involved deep tissue massages and detoxifying seaweed body wraps is being praised by US and Russian media alike as both nations look for stronger post-Cold War ties and more “quality time”.…
